IRS Warns of Scam Targeting Students

The IRS recently warned that there is newer scam targeting students of educational institutions who have a “.edu” email address. In this phishing scam the fraudster impersonates the IRS and enticing the victim to click on a link within the email. The IRS has stated that the reported scams have centered around emails with the subject line including “tax returns” or “tax refund payments”, and includes a link for the victim to include their personal information to claim the refund.
