Consumer Awareness: Equifax Error in Reporting

As you may have heard in recent news reports, Equifax recently identified an internal coding issue from March 17th to April 6th of this year, that caused some of their consumers to have incorrect credit scores.

Dort Financial uses two credit bureaus, Experian and then Transunion as a back-up to review credit for our consumer loans. For mortgages, we use a tri-merge of all three major bureaus, which is standard in the mortgage industry. We have been in communication with Equifax, and they have confirmed that none of the credit files we pulled for tri-merges were impacted on the system we use.

Rest assured, members who applied for credit through Dort Financial have not been impacted.
